Merge exists to reach a generation with the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through the efforts of a community of believers, the mission of Merge is to educate and encourage believers and nonbelievers through the use of camps, worship rallies, and retreats.
In July 2011, while attending a kid’s camp at Shocco Springs Conference Center in Talladega, AL God planted a vision in a group of volunteers to create a high-quality camp at a more affordable price.
In July 2012, the first Merge camp was held at YMCA Hargis Retreat Center in Chelsea, AL. After six years of blessing and growth, Merge needed a new location. In 2018, God led us back to where the vision for Merge was born and camp was held at Shocco Springs Conference Center for the first time.
The heartbeat of Merge is a community of believers coming together and using their talents and abilities to reach the next generation with the gospel. Today, Merge continues to be run by a group of volunteers who want to see the love of God reach the next generations. There are many churches who send volunteers, give financial support, and share ministry resources to make it possible to keep the cost of camp affordable for everyone. Merge is made possible through volunteers and churches merging together and offering their resources and talents to put on camp.
The cost of Merge covers lodging, meals, camp shirts, camp booklets, and name tags. What a student will experience while at Merge will be live worship, age appropriate Biblical teaching, quiet time, small groups, large group, recreation, color games, lake activities, swimming, snack bar, block party, Wet Willie, shaving cream fight, and much more.
